Example of use in the product
When creating or editing a location, in either the location manager screen or the test create/edit flow, there is a location flyout.
Select "By Regular Expression" in the flyout, start typing your regular expression, then click off the input field.
If applicable, a blue bar will appear with AI guidance to improve your regex.
What am I seeing here?
We understand that Regular Expressions (RegExs) are not everyone's forte.
When using Regular Expressions, we scan them for common problems that could either lead to inefficiencies or outright stop the locations from working. If we find issues, we flag them to you.
When will I see a message?
We will flag things like:
Trailing or leading .* or .+
Use of non-capturing groups
Unnecessary escapes
Use of positive lookaheads where .* would do the same job
The list of what we manage to catch and flag will grow, and AI of course allows us to detect things that might not be obvious to pre-define.
