The dashboard comes with a mechanism for adding and managing labels on your experiences.

What are labels?

Just like you might find in your project management systems like Airtable or JIRA, labels in Optimize are a way to classify the experiences you build. The purpose of doing so is primarily to make it easier to find what you're looking for.

Initial setup

When you hover over any row in the dashboard, you'll see Add Labels:

Click it, and then hop over to Manage Labels

By default, this will be empty:

You can start filling it up.

Note: We currently only support 6 categories of options, albeit with plenty of possible options you can add to each.

Some suggestions for categories are:

  • Assignees:

    • Developer - list of people who've built the experience

    • Strategist/owner - whoever owns the project

  • Test classification:

    • Page Type - e.g. Homepage, PLP, PDP, etc.

    • Device targeting - e.g. Desktop, Tablet, Mobile

    • Theme - e.g. USPs, Social Proofing, Recommendations, Form UX

  • Outcome:

    • Was success - yes/no.

    • Impact on KPI - low/medium/high.

  • etc.

Once filled up, the grid might look like:

Click Save in the bottom-right corner, and you're ready to go.

Changing label values

Labels are assigned based on the cell in the grid. In the above case, if we change "Sandeep" to "James", all labels that appeared to be assigned to Sandeep will be moved over to James as they are mapped to that cell in the grid as opposed to the exact word.

Assigning labels to experiences

Assigning labels to tests is straightforward.

Start at the same place, clicking "+ Add Labels".

Then, simply select your desired labels and click Save

Against your experience, you'll then see the labels appear:

Filtering by labels

With labels enabled and assigned to your experience, you can now filter your dashboard view:

Note that multiple selections are treated as OR joins - in this case, Homepage OR PLP.

Alongside having a filtered view, you may notice these labels being tagged onto your URL:
https://app.webtrends-optimize.com/optimize/?labelFilter=2_0%2C2_1

This allows you to bookmark a pre-filtered page, and use that next time you need to login to the UI.
