The dashboard, experience screen and experience creation screens come with a mechanism for adding and managing labels on your experiences.
What are labels?
Just like you might find in your project management systems like Airtable or JIRA, labels in Webtrends Optimize are a way to classify the experiences you build. The purpose of doing so is primarily to make it easier to find what you're looking for.
Label management
To access the label manager screen you can use the navigation, under configure, and select 'Manage labels'.
The label manager screen allows you to see all of your label categories and relevant labels. By default this screen will be empty.
On this screen you can add up to 6 categories and all relevant labels. The idea of this is to break the labels down into recognisable themes. Its easy to add and remove them - you can select to add a new label, overwrite existing or remove those that are not relevant.
Be aware, changing existing labels will amend that label on any relevant experience which currently has that label assigned. For example changing 'Sandeep' to 'James' in the same cell will alter the existing label.
Some suggestions for labels and categories:
Assignees:
Developer - list of people who've built the experience
Strategist/owner - whoever owns the project
β
Test classification:
Page Type - e.g. Homepage, PLP, PDP, etc.
Device targeting - e.g. Desktop, Tablet, Mobile
Theme - e.g. USPs, Social Proofing, Recommendations, Form UX
β
Outcome:
Was success - yes/no.
Impact on KPI - low/medium/high.
Adding labels to my experience
You can add labels to an experience from several places including the experience screen and the create/build flow.
Adding labels as part of creating an experience is covered here.
Adding labels from the experience screen
To add a label to an experience from the experience screen you need to find the experience you wish to add it to and click on the overview icon.
Doing so will bring up the overview pop-up and you will see an option for 'Labels', click on it and it will show you the following.
From here you can select to 'Search labels' and find which label you want to assign to the experience. You will see your categories and subsequent options.
You can add as many labels as you like, there is no limit here.
Filtering experiences by label
Filtering experiences by labels is the most effective way to find relevant results and it is very easy to do. Firstly you need to access the 'Filters' on the experiences screen.
This will open the filter pop-up and here you can choose labels, select the appropriate labels and click apply.
You will now see the experiences relevant to that label. You can remove these filters by selecting the 'cancel' icon on the filters themselves.
Filters on the dashboard
Filters can be viewed on the dashboard and they can be used as quick filters to take you through to the experiences screen with a filter applied relevant to the clicked label.
Not seeing the labels option? It may be that you have switched this widget off. Click on 'Edit dashboard' at the top of the page and ensure the labels widget is enabled.
Accessing the dashboard for the first time will show a blank widget marked 'Labels'.
To add labels you will need to click on 'Edit dashboard', as shown above, and choose to search for labels. You can then select those which are relevant to you, click 'Save dashboard' and they will then show on the dashboard whilst also acting as quick filters.
Clicking a label from this section will navigate you to the experiences screen.
