Components affected: Visual Editor Custom Widgets

Delivered to production: 22/10/2024

What's changed in the Optimize platform with this release? Here are the highlights.

Custom Widgets Preview

Type: New feature

When building a new Custom Widget, Users will now find a preview panel inline with your code, making it far easier to preview your work before clicking save. This should avoid the back and forth of saving, checking and having to make incremental updates, especially for users who are less familiar with the syntax and options available for custom widgets.

Delete Custom Widget

This functionality did not previously exist, with the majority of No-code Widget users using our pre-built templates.

With the increase in users to Custom Widgets, which we're thrilled to see, you will now find the ability to delete the Custom Widget whenever you click through to it

Centralised Wigets store

Previously, widgets had also been kept locally - being available when created and then discarded when you leave the Visual Editor.

Widgets are now shared across the account, allowing you to create them for other people to use.

This feature has no controls to worry about - any widgets you create will be added to a library as with other objects in the UI like Locations, Segments etc., and will automatically be shared with others in the account.
