Want to apply different changes on different pages in the Visual Editor? This is what the Multi-page testing (MPT) option provides users with.

Below is a short guide for using that functionality.

The principle for using Multi Page Testing (MPT)

To use the functionality, we will be browsing through pages, using the MPT functionality to adjust the scope of changes to come, defining those new changes, and continuing to browse to new areas of the website.

At the time of rendering your changes, we will ensure that they are scoped accordingly.

Below is a hypothetical scenario that covers all the available options.

Steps required

1. Load the visual editor as normal

2. Select Multi Page

Once you get to the Variations section, click on the Multi Page option:

We will start by making a sitewide change, and so will scope your changes to the regex .*

3. Make your changes

Make your changes as usual, and save your Variation to unlock the Browse mode. We will come back to your variation shortly.

When saving your variation, we will be asked once for the scope of your whole test. This is a sitewide test, so once again we will use the regex .*

4. Browse to next page

Next, browse into the next page you'd like to make changes.

Click the button, and then navigate around the website as required until you reach your next page.

Go into your variation using the Edit icon:

5. MPT again

Use the MPT option again - this time we'll be applying the changes to one page only:

Once again, go and make your transformations.

6. Repeat as necessary

If you need to make more changes to more pages, repeat the above steps - Browse, Adjust MPT scope, Define transformations, and repeat.

Once you're all set, Save your test and it's ready to QA.
