GENERAL

I’m running my Website on WordPress can I still use your application?

Yes absolutely. Webtrends Optimize can be utilised on most CMS platforms. Your website itself is not affected by any experiments as they are delivered using a small tag in the header of your site to re-direct the traffic to our solution.

How long will you keep my test data?

We keep your data for a 12-month rolling period.

What if I forget my login details – where can I find them?

Like most applications, you can reset password from the login screen.

Can I run your application on multiple sites?

Our licencing agreement only allows for running our application on a single domain, however sub-domains are allowed.

How long should a test be to prove worthwhile?

This really depends on the amount of traffic your site gets as the outcomes are determined by the interactions with each variation. If your site has a healthy level of traffic, a simple AB test could return valid results over a period of 2-3 weeks.

What happens if I establish a successful experiment- can I run it on your application after the test period ends?

In most cases, if an experiment has been successful, it would warrant the winning outcome to be implemented within your CMS. However, in the meantime you can run it as an optimal on our solution.

What knowledge do I need to get the best from this application?

You can run experiments with little or no knowledge of javascript and html, but to get the most out of it, having a reasonable understanding of how code works and the ability to write code would be advantageous.

How many experiments can I run simultaneously?

There are no limits to the number of experiments you run.

How many users can have access to the system?

There are no limits to the number of users you can have.

What level of traffic to my website would I need to get the most out of your solution?

To run successful AB tests a certain level of traffic is necessary to determine which version of an experiment is the best. We would recommend at least 10,000 visitors a month. However, you can utilise the targeting capabilities within the solution to deliver different content to different visitors and that can be useful whatever level of traffic your website gets.

SUPPORT

Do you offer support and if so, is there an additional cost?

We know that getting to grips with any application takes time and some hands-on experience and there will be times where you need to reach-out for help. You can access https://help.webtrends-optimize.com for guidance and of course email us at [email protected]. Beyond that we offer a selection of support packages tailored to suit your needs at realistic pricing. Contact support on the email address above for a quote.

Do you offer the ability for my experiments to be tested to make sure they work OK before publishing?

Our solution can only deliver successful experiment outcomes if they are built correctly. Our WYSIWYG editor takes care of the basics with minimal checking. But in the initial weeks you may need us to look over what you have built to make sure it delivers what you expect. We can QA individual experiments for a minimal cost to help build your confidence.

Are there any training courses available to help me get the best from the solution?

We don’t offer formal training courses, but you can find a selection of useful training videos on https://help.webtrends-optimize.com

PRODUCT

Can I use Webtrends Optimize to deliver a personalised experience to my visitors?

Yes, you can start by creating welcome banners based on specific visitor types using our step-by step Widget tool and segment builder. This allows you to deliver different personalised banners. You can add further personalisation functions such as light-box pop ups too using the same set of tools.

What data is available for me to add personalisation to my test?

This depends on if the test is a Self–Serve test or an Advanced Editor test. If the test is built within the Advanced Editor, then data loaded before or after the tag has loaded can be used. If your test has been built within the WYSIWYG, then your data will need to be mapped.

Using your application, can I target and track returning customers?

Yes. You can do this from within our Segment Builder and then apply that segment to the relevant experiments.
